From NICU to Studio: Celebrating a Little Fighter’s Newborn Session
Some sessions are extra special, and this was one of them.
I first met this sweet baby girl during her long NICU stay, where I had the privilege of photographing her for Capturing Hopes—a program dedicated to offering free photography services to families with babies in the NICU. After spending over 90 days in the hospital, seeing her thriving and healthy in my studio for her newborn session was such a full-circle moment.
Working with Capturing Hopes has been one of the greatest blessings. Yes, we volunteer to give back, but the truth is, these tiny fighters and their incredible families give something back to us too. It’s hard to explain the feeling of walking through the NICU, meeting these resilient little ones, and creating something joyful in the midst of such a difficult journey.
Capturing these milestones—first in the NICU and now in the studio—makes me so thankful for the work I do and the amazing families I meet along the way.
