Elon University Senior Photographer

You got an acorn at Convocation. In May you'll walk out of Baccalaureate holding an oak sapling. Everything in between happened on these brick paths, and your senior portraits should look like it.

What you'll want to remember is your people, the places you made yours, and how it felt to be here. What your family wants is something to hold onto: an album they'll actually open and a photograph on the wall long after move-out day. My sessions are made for both. Honest photographs of who you are right now, finished as heirlooms that last.

Three ways to make it yours

Every session runs up to 90 minutes. Choose campus, my studio in downtown Gibsonville about ten minutes away, or a little of both.

On campus

Cap and gown if you want it, your own clothes if you don't. We'll go to the spots that were yours, mostly real moments with a few polished frames mixed in.

In the studio

My studio is ten minutes from campus. Clean backdrops, soft light and no weather to worry about. Plenty of seniors split their time between campus and the studio.

With your friends

A full session built around your group. Bring your roommates, your team or your closest friends, and we'll make portraits of each of you plus plenty of all of you together.

A few extras

Bring the champagne, the pennant, your parents and the whole crew. If it's part of your Elon story, it belongs in your session.

The campus guide

Elon's campus is a designated botanical garden, which is why it photographs so well in every season. These are the spots seniors ask for most, plus the one that's just yours.

Fonville Fountain

The classic, in front of the Alamance Building. Most Elon grads want it in at least one frame.

Under the oaks

Brick paths, tall oaks and soft shade. Where Baccalaureate happens and every senior is handed an oak sapling.

The ELON letters

Bold, bright and a little bit fun. Great for a cap toss or a photograph with friends.

Late March and April turn the whole campus into a garden. Worth planning around.

Your spot

The bench, the residence hall, the brick with your name on it. If it mattered, we'll go there.

How it works

The planning

A quick call about locations, outfits, who's joining, and the look you want. A wardrobe guide follows.

The session

Up to 90 minutes on campus, at the studio, or both. I'll guide you through it, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.

The reveal

About a week later, at the studio or over Zoom, so family in another state can be part of it.

The delivery

Albums and wall art arrive at your door, with your digital files alongside.

$190session fee

Covers the planning call, styling guidance, and up to 90 minutes on campus, at the studio, or both. $50 of it holds your date.

Albums, wall art and digital collections are chosen at the reveal, after you've seen every photograph. Most Elon families invest between $500 and $2,500, and many book the session as a graduation gift.

Hey, I'm Alison

I grew up on this campus

Elon has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid it meant fishing and walks. Then came class events with Elon Elementary, and later my own prom photos on these same brick paths.

I've been photographing people since 2011, and Elon sessions have been part of every stage of that journey. So when I say I know this campus, I mean it's a little bit mine too. I'd love to help you remember the version of it that's yours.

More about me

Elon senior questions

How much do Elon senior portraits cost?
The session fee is $190 and covers your planning call, styling guidance and up to 90 minutes of photography. Albums, wall art and digital collections are chosen after you see your photographs. Most Elon families invest between $500 and $2,500 in total.
When should I book my Elon senior session?
October to November for fall, March to April for spring. Spring weekends fill first, so May graduates should book by February.
Where on Elon's campus do you photograph?
Fonville Fountain and the Alamance Building, the oak-lined walks, the ELON letters, the columns and brick around campus, and anywhere that meant something to you. We can add time at my Gibsonville studio too.
Can I book a session with my friends?
Yes. Friend group sessions are full sessions built around your group, with portraits of each of you and plenty of all of you together.
Do I need to wear my cap and gown?
Only if you want to. Most seniors do a mix: one look in cap and gown and one or two that feel like them.
I'm awkward in front of a camera. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. I'll guide you through every part of the session, from where to stand to what to do with your hands. Most people relax within the first few minutes.
My family lives out of state. Can they be involved?
Yes. The reveal can happen over Zoom, so your family can see the photographs and choose albums or wall art from home. Everything ships to their door.
What if it rains?
My studio is about ten minutes from campus, so we can move inside or reschedule the campus part for a better day.
How is this different from GradImages or yearbook photos?
GradImages photographs every graduate crossing the stage, and the yearbook offers quick cap and gown portraits. A senior session is a full portrait session on your schedule, at the places that mattered to you, finished as albums and wall art.
Do you photograph Elon graduate and law students?
Yes, including Elon Law graduates in Greensboro.
