Behind the Lens
Hey, I’m Alison
I didn’t really get this stage of life until I was in it myself. Becoming a mom changed everything for me, in the best and most overwhelming ways. These days can feel so full and fast, and sometimes a little blurry too. That’s where a lot of the heart behind my work comes from and I'm proud to serve families right here in Gibsonville North Carolina and across the greater Alamance County area. I know what it’s like to want to remember it all but not always feel fully present in it. Over time, I’ve gotten really comfortable with newborns and growing families, so I can guide you without it feeling like a big production. You don’t have to have it all together here, you just get to show up and be with your people. The moments that come from that are the ones that matter most anyway.
Photography has been part of my life for a long time now, since 2011 to be exact. I went to school at Randolph Community College in Asheboro NC for it and spent years working alongside other photographers in Burlington and Greensboro, learning everything from lighting to color to how to handle just about any situation that comes up. It’s given me a really solid foundation, but more than anything, it’s made me confident in what I do, so you don’t have to be.
Fun fact: I didn’t always know I wanted to be a photographer, but looking back, it probably should’ve been obvious. I used to set up little “photo studios” with blankets and backgrounds and take pictures of my stuffed animals on disposable cameras.
These days, life is a mix of chaos and comfort. I’m married to my high school sweetheart Cody, and we’re raising our sweet girl Izzy together here in Gibsonville. My favorite meal is cheap spaghetti with meat sauce (talking like… Ragu and ground beef, nothing fancy), New Girl is my comfort show, and I love to paint even though I’m not great at it. Our dog Daisy is my bestie girl/old lady, and our cat Luna is kind of an ass, but we love her anyway.
That’s pretty much me living a simple life with a lot of love in the middle of it.
Let’s work together
