When your baby's first days are spent in the NICU, those days still belong in your family's story. Each month our volunteers photograph babies at Cone Health Women's & Children's Center, at no cost to families.
About the program
A NICU stay rarely looks the way you pictured your baby's first days. It can be long, uncertain and full of things you never expected to learn. In the middle of all of it, your baby is still growing and your family is still becoming a family.
The Little Legacy Project is a volunteer program that photographs babies in the NICU at Cone Health Women's & Children's Center. Every session is photographed by a volunteer who gives their time because these days matter.
Request a session
A parent or legal guardian fills out the short request form. There is never a cost to families for the session or the photographs.
Photo day
Each month we hold a photography event in the NICU at Cone Health Women's & Children's Center. Your baby is photographed at the next scheduled event while they are still in the NICU. If your baby has already gone home, we won't be able to photograph them. We are usually in the room for just 5 to 10 minutes.
Receive your photographs
About two weeks after the event, you will receive an email with an online gallery of around 5 images from your session. Your images are never shared without your consent.

All items must be new and clean.
