Best Place To Print

and my top reasons why

Where should I have prints made? Will it be cheaper to print somewhere else? Why do my prints look weird if the photos looked good on my phone?

Above are some of the questions I’ve gotten since beginning portrait photography. The answer is simple, have your photographer print your images. There are so many reasons we want you to print with us so take a moment to read just a few.

1) There is a process.

First, as professionals we are trained to understand the process start to finish. From the time we book your session we are taking steps to plan for the final result. We calibrate our cameras, monitors and printers through a detailed color management system to ensure when you get your final images no one looks like they came from a different planet. I mean really which image below would you rather have?

2) We want you to look like you.

Color calibration is used in every consumer field from photography to product manufacturing. Think about Pepsi blue, you know exactly what color that is right? So if you go to the store and see a Pepsi that looks a little purple compared to the others are you going to buy that one? Probably not… But a company like Pepsi has a process and aren’t printing labels the wrong color. Just as it’s important for Pepsi to be blue it’s important that you look like you! You’ve planned for your session by choosing colors and backdrops, maybe you’ve even picked a specific time of year. After all the thought that goes into your session you want the result to look like you imagined it and that’s what the color management process is for. Even if your photographer goes through a printing company, they most likely have invested time and money into making sure that the printing company they use produces prints that match the photographer’s monitor calibration. Meaning we know what we see on our computer monitor will match the prints we receive.

3) Why give a “print permission”

So those of you that have worked with me in the past may be asking, well why do you give us the choice? The reason for this is because I want my customers to have turn around time flexibility. While I’m able to provide a high quality print I can’t offer the one hour service that your local drug store does.

4) It’s an investment.

Photography is an investment, so don’t cut yourself short when it comes to the final product. We work hard to capture moments and deliver beautiful images. Our goal is to give you a product that will last, not take your money.

Long story short trust the process, trust your photographer, and talk about your long term goals for your session. My job as a photographer is to give you the best quality that I can, so don’t hesitate to ask questions and make sure you’re getting the results you want!
