Catie's Bridal Session

Catie’s bridal session is honestly one of my favorites. Not only because she’s STUNNING but the session reminded me of an important part of the bridal session experience. We photographed her session at her wedding venue; Starmount Forest County Club in Greensboro North Carolina during the early evening. I have to say she got the most beautiful day. She mentioned after the session that she was glad she did a bridal because she didn’t realize how it would feel to see herself as a bride for the first time. Doing that on a day other than her wedding day allowed her to sit with those emotions instead of being shuffled out to start wedding day events as soon as she was ready.

I love bridal sessions even for the non-traditional bride for a few reasons:

• The most obvious being you get beautiful portraits to display at your wedding and in your home. They also cut back on day of wedding portraits. These are the reasons you’ll hear from every photographer.

• Its a trial run. Bridal sessions allow you to test your vendors such as hair, make-up, and florist before your day and discuss any changes you want made. This is also a great time to move around in your wardrobe, walk in your shoes and make sure there aren’t any discomforts or alterations that need to be made.

• Its emotional. Like Catie experienced seeing your self as a bride for the first time is a big moment. For some its exciting and for others it can be a bit overwhelming. This moment is so much more than an outfit, its a symbol of the commitment you’re making. For the first time YOU ARE A BRIDE!
