Lail Family

I was so happy to hear from The Lail Family, I photographed their wedding a while back and love getting to see how my couples grow and meet their kids!

We had a time scheduling their portrait session. On our original date we got snow (not the pretty kind; the gross NC kind that no one wants to be out in) and then our reschedule might have been the windiest day of the month. I must say it was cold and the kids weren’t thrilled about being there.

BUT… against the odds their session turned out to be a win. The colors came together nicely and we got the best mix of candid images. Winter is always a tough time to plan portraits but they create a minimalist look that pairs well in any home, I actually really like the look of winter.

The way this Family mixed warm neutrals against the brown grassy field created such a clean and timeless look. I also love the candid nature of this session. Parents, if your kids arent feeling it then dont force it. We walked, played and followed their lead for most of this session and the results were great!

Also a shoutout to Starlight Meadows of Burlington North Carolina for hosting our session. Its a beautiful Wedding and Event Venue and a great property year round if you’re looking for a fun, rustic look.
